Hole In One Club
Sept. 22 - Arnold Turk on #17 at Cobble Beach Golf Links (pictured above) with an 8 iron. His second of the year!!

After a long drought, Somerhill had two aces earlier this month.
They both occurred on men’s night & on hole #5.
Sept. 5 - Brian MacDonald with a 9-iron witnessed by Cam Kirk, Joe Cottrill & Jim Macpherson.

Sept. 12 - Dale Pollock with a pitching wedge witnessed by Brian Fry, Ken & Mike Catto.

Ainsdale 
Senior Men’s League
On Sept. 27 a brief rain delay may have spoiled the season of perfect weather for the Senior Men's scramble at Ainsdale, but it did not dampen the enthusiasm of another great turnout for the final event of the year.  

Leading the way, with a fine -5 score on the front nine, was the team of Harvey Lootsma, Ray Kester and Hugh Jones.   

One stroke back, in 2nd place, was Gary Firth, Harry Hicks and Steve MacEachern.  

The day ended with a delicious meal and year-end draw prizes for all competitors.  

Many thanks to Dave Blenkinsop and Gary Firth for the outstanding job they did organizing this event, once again, this season. 

Men’s Night
 Hot sunny skies brought out great scores and 65 men on Sept.  21.

Mike Harper took A flight, Lynn Finlayson won B, Jim Wolfe cleaned up in C flight while Grant Fotheringham  won D.
50/50 winner was Walter Hogg. Draw winners were: Jim MacPherson, Adam Burgess, Grant Fotheringham Ken Bresee, Dan MacDonald, Derek Regier, Rod McDonald, Lynn Finlayson, Bob Black.

On Sept 14 it was a night of ties.

Blair Chaput and Mike Meraw tied for first place in A flight, Bob Black and Duane Regier won B, Walter Hogg and Gavin Newsham won C while Ken Bresee cleaned up in D.

The 50/50 winner was Tim Palmer.

On August 24th Marv Glazier won A flight, George MacDonald took B, David Blenkinsop clobbered C and Matt Lovie cleaned up in D flight.

The 50/50 winner was Travis Mclaughlin.

The final night on the 28th features a steak night, and men's closing is on Oct. 1st @ 1 pm.

Ladies League
The Ladies were still using their sunscreen for their last regular league play on Sept. 26.
 
Debbie Pegg & Anne Rock put on a putting clinic for others to envy, each carding 5 one-putts on the front nine.

The first and second place winners for Stableford points this week by flight were:
A - Karen Neilipovitz 21,  Jennifer Lawrie 18,  B - Nancy Stewart 22,  Sharon MacDonald 19,  C - Jean Rhude 19,  Marianne Irwin 18
D - Una MacDonald 20,  Shelly Pollock 20,  E - Deb Brindley 27,  Muriel Cochrane 24

The low putters for the day were, Cathy Chambers 17,  Debbie Pegg 13,  Anne Rock 14,  Una MacDonald 14,  Deb Brindley 18.

There were 16 lucky draw winners of a sleeve of golf balls, courtesy of Ainsdale Golf Course.

Men's League
Sept. 19th was pretty wet for golfing, but there were still quite a few show up for our 20th Men’s night of the year. 

Terry Parsons must enjoy the rain, as he had his best Men’s Night ever. Winner in “A” was Wayne Farrell with 19 points. 

Dave Cooper, Glen Chaput and Tom Pegg tied for second with 17. Dave and Wayne split the skins with Roger Amelotte. Bob Ogilvie led “B” with 24 points, followed by Dwight Leslie with 22. 

Bob and Dwight shared skins with Ray Day and Noel MacIntosh. Terry Parsons won “C” with 27 points, and Randy Alton was second with 24. Terry and Tom Kittel had the skins. Closest to the pin winners were Bill King, Noel MacIntosh, Wayne Boyd, Tom Kittel, Dwight Leslie
and Bob Ogilvie.

Men’s League
The final week of playoffs has concluded with a surprise development, Fairway to Heaven has won again. They were able to continue their dominance with an 8-under 272, led by the low gross score of the week, a 34 from John Murdoch. Wim Kruisselbrink had the team’s low net score, shooting a 4-under 31. For a second week in a row, the Birdie Boyz are the runner-up with a score of 277. Brady Barfoot fired a gross 37, while Glen Beale posted a net 32 to propel the Boyz into second place. It was a tough week on the back 9 with only four golfers breaking par. 

Rob Matheson was the lucky winner of the 50/50, taking home a smooth $70

Low Gross and Low net competitions resulted in a tie between Gord Kletzel & John Murdoch, who both shot a gross score of 34.

Longest Putt Made #10: Brady Barfoot made his opening putt from 14' 2"

Closest to the Pin #12: John Murdoch flew over the water to within 5' 5" of the pin

Longest Putt Made #13: Jim Wilson made his putt from 6' 11"

Longest Putt Made #14: Brent Keeling drained one from 6' 3"

Closest to the Keg #15: Rob Matheson was thirsty and put his tee shot 13' 4" from the keg

Closest to the Pin #17: Peter Little stuck one 14 feet out

Longest Putt Made #18: Ken Morrison finished his round with a 11' 5" putt

On Sept. 20 the winners were:
50/50 Winner was Phil Carleton who will take home $70.

Low Net Score went to Terry Duncan with a 31.

Low Gross Score belonged to Chase Amyot shooting a 31 (-5). 

John Murdoch took home a Closest to the Pin as well as a Longest Putt.

Closest to the Pin #8: Lloyd WIlson threw a dart within 2 feet at number 8
