Colekessian 3rd in Pro-Am

Two pros from the BruceGreySimcoe region finished in the top-5 at the Merit Travel Golf Vacations Pro-Am in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Greg Colekessian of The Georgian Bay Club was 3rd and won $1,100 while Nate Clingersmith of The Golf Club at Lora Bay was 5th and won $500.

The Stableford system was used for scoring (6 points for eagle, four for birdie, 2 for par, and 1 for a bogey) and Colekessian totalled 148 points over the four days.
Clingersmith had 141 points.

Conrad Riley of OslerBrook Golf and Country Club collected 126 points and tied for 10th.

The winner, with 174 points, was Bill Walsh, the 2017 PGA of Canada - Ontario Zone Player of the Year. His first place prize was $1,500.

The team division was won by Team Oakdale Golf & Country Club, which was led by Professional Wes Stanford and bolstered by amateurs Jason Crystal, Steven Millman, and Stephan Crosswell.

Colekessian’s squad was best among BGS golfers with a 7th place finish. Riley’s team was 11th while Clingersmith’s team was 13th.

The four golf days were split between the tropical and coastal Cinnamon Hill Golf Course and the renowned and historic White Witch Golf Course, named after the 'beautiful but wicked' 19th century plantation owner Annee Palmer.

The event was held Dec. 3-8.
