Todd wins OFSAA championship

Alexa Todd of Owen Sound District Secondary School won the High School Division of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Girls Golf Championship.

She shot rounds of 76-93 to win by four strokes over second place finisher Hadley McHenry, who shot 90-83.

Alexa’s first-round 76 included a 36 (+1) on the back 9.

Todd plays out of Legacy Ridge Golf Club where her father, Michael, is the Director of Operations and part-owner.

Also competing in the High School Division were Olivea Pope of Saugeen District SS in Port Elgin and Ginny Frook of OSDSS.

Pope shot 93-97 and tied for 10th and Frook carded rounds of 94-98 and tied for 12th.

Another golfer from the Bluewater District - Ela Jones of Kincardine District SS – shot rounds of 84-78 and was 5th in the Open Division.

The tournament was held at Sawmill Golf Course near St. Catharines.
