Deer Ridge pro wins Classic

James Skrypec of the Golf Academy at Deer Ridge fired rounds of 68-70 and won in a playoff at the PGA of Canada’s Ontario Zone Fall Classic.

The event was played Sept. 10-11 at two Thornbury-area golf courses - the Georgian Bay Club (GBC) and The Golf Club at Lora Bay.

The playoff involved Skrypec, Brian Hadley (70-68) of Thames Valley Golf Club and Danny King (67-71) of The Performance Academy at Magna.

Skrypec won with a birdie on the 18th hole at Lora Bay, which was the first playoff hole.

The top two players from the BruceGreySimcoe region were Terry O’Brien of Cedar Links Golf Centre in Barrie (69-73) and Thomas Keddy of OslerBrook Golf and Country Club (71-71) who tied for 8th.
