Barrie golfer wins Ontario championship

 

David Greenaway of Barrie Country Club (in photo above) shot a final-round 68 (-3) to win the Ontario Senior Men’s Amateur Championship.

Greenaway, who shot 71-72 in his first two rounds, finished with a -2 total, which was one stroke better than second-place finisher Robert Gibson of Cedar Brae (72-70-70).

Fellow Barrie CC member John Murphy shot a final round 80 and finished in 9th.

Another Barrie CC member - Ross Ballantyne - picked up the win in the age 70+ division. He shot rounds of 77-78-79.

He also placed tied for 23rd in the overall competition and 2nd in the 65+ division.
