Cooper on 3rd Place Team


Kincardine native Brianna Cooper (shown in photo) combined with junior golfer Stewart Bell of Lambton Golf and Country Club to finish third in the gross division of The PGA of Canada’s Ontario Zone PING Pro/Jr. Championship.
 
Cooper, who is an assistant pro at Lambton, and Bell shot a gross score of 67 (-5). They placed 6th in the net division.

The championship is divided into gross and net divisions and juniors (18 and under) from all skill levels compete as a team with their golf coach in a round of Best Ball.
 
The team of Terry Smith and Ian Scott of Hawk Ridge Golf Club near Orillia shot 75 and finished 13th in both gross and net.

Barry Wallis and Phillippe Couillard of OslerBrook Golf and Country Club near Collingwood combined to card an 83 and finished 26th in gross and 24th in net.

The gross division was won by Grant Lau and pro Piero Poletto of The Country Club. They shot 65.

In the net division, it ended up a tie between pro Dakota Chase and Aydan Downer of  Taboo Muskoka Resort and pro West Stanford and John-Steven Giannantonio of Oakdale Golf Academy.
Their net scores were 63.

The event was held Tuesday at Wooden Sticks Golf Club in Uxbridge.
