Two golfers from area miss cut


Both golfers from BruceGreySimcoe have missed the cut at the Canadian Men’s Senior Amateur Championship.

David Greenaway of Barrie shot rounds of 77-81 to finish at +18 for the two days, while Steve Irving of Legacy Ridge Golf Club near Owen Sound (pictured above) went 78-87 for a +25 total.

Conditions were substantially tougher on the second day and the cut was at +15.

The leader is Doug Hanzel of Savannah, Georgia, who has carded two rounds of 70 and is at even par.

The championship, being played at Kanawaki Golf Club in Kahnawake, Que., resumes tomorrow morning.
