Goderich Sunset wins Interclub competition

Flush with success after winning the wooden toilet seat for the third consecutive year, the Goderich Sunset team posed for a photo at Pike Lake.


For the third consecutive year, Goderich Sunset Golf Club has won the coveted wooden toilet seat - the prize for being the best club in Interclub competition this summer.

The Goderich squad scored 135 points during the season to take top spot among the four clubs participating.

Pike Lake was second with 125 points and BlackHorse third with 74. The final spot was taken by Ainsdale with 66 points.

The final event of the season was played Sept. 18 at Pike Lake and the host team was victorious, collecting 53 points.

Goderich was second with 23, Ainsdale third with 16 and BlackHorse fourth with 8  pts.

Scott Yanke of Pike Lake led the way in the A Flight (0-7 handicap) with a 73 (+1),  while Pike Lake’s Jeff O’Donnell topped the B flight (8-13) with a 79.

 The other flight winners were:
C Flight (14-17) Jeff Emmerton of Goderich 77

D Flight (18-21) - Randy Croteau of Pike Lake 82

E Flight (22-32) Frank Formica of Pike Lake 82
